About Island Pound Hounds
Not all hot dogs are created equal. Island Pound Hounds prides itself on only using the highest quality meat from the finest, most reputable meat suppliers in the BIG BEND Area. (we support LOCAL food sustainability see below) All of our hot dogs are made exclusively from 100% USDA domestic beef-- we don’t use cattle from outside our borders. Nor do we allow fillers, artificial colors, or artificial flavorings in any of our products. Our sausages are made from pork, chicken or turkey. We pride ourselves in creating or re-creating the most natural and tastiest pure breeds (100% pure beef hot dogs), mutts/mongrels (Polish Kielbasa, Italian Sausages, German Brats) kennel buddies (sides), kibble/bits (toppings) and treats (desserts) for our select Haute Dawg lovers-YOU!
My approach is to seek out locally produced products from local vendors whenever possible. I am proud to serve the freshest sausages from local grass-fed beef, pork, lamb and goat from various farms located in nearby Monticello. Island Pound Hounds has a wide menu that includes bratwursts, kielbasas, and sweet Italian sausages.

I was born in South Florida (Miami Beach) but raised in New York. At an early age I developed a love for "those wonderful little red cylindrical tubes of meat(?). Garnished in sooo many different ways I was hooked. Folks who know me know that I ALWAYS wanted to "sell Hot Dogs". My dream has become a reality.
I was interested in home cooking long before the current hype and media-fueled proliferation of celebrity chefs. From an early age I could be found using a stepping stool to reach the stove in order to watch/help my mom cook. I now use her as my inspiration and I'm sure she monitors & watches me from above.
I get the most enjoyment out of it when I can invite guests over for dinner. Whether it's a simple dish or a backyard BBQue, Puerto Rican or Asian fusion, Indian, Mexican, Mediterranean or plain old "southern" comfort food – I love to experiment, and I'm constantly trying out new things.
And of course it's immensely gratifying when my family and friends are sated, content and eager to come back for the next meal or dog!
